Caps 'n' Lids

I made art using recycled plastic and metal bottle caps and jar lids. Concern for ocean plastic motivated me. Gathering materials for my first piece took over two years with help from others. I innovated a glue free, paint free method to join pieces, resulting in flexible, strong and visually appealing artworks.

A Novel Nod to

Granny’s Quilt

My magnum opus because of the size, time involved (about 3 months) and difficulty executing the design. The idea came from an unfinished Grandmother’s Flower Garden design quilt in my attic, which was started two generations ago with beautiful fabrics from that era. This novel quilt is actually a twin bed size, but I wouldn’t suggest using it for anything other than a wall hanging! The piece was assembled entirely from the back upside down on my dining room table. I didn’t see it finished until it was hung for the first time. This beauty has already been in one juried international exhibit.
